The first game of the season is on April

The Panthers inducted Rod Haydock and Albert
Parsons as life members of the Eltham
Football Club.
Haydock, the father of recently-appointed
Panton Hill coach Dean, served on the senior
committee for 13 years and is highly
regarded within the NFL.
Parsons, who passed away in 1977, was
posthumously recognised for his services to
the club which date back to the 1920s.
He was captain-coach of Eltham’s first
premiership in 1930, when it defeated
Heidelberg by seven points in the Grand
Final, and was a playing coach in 1932 when
the club won its second flag.
Records show he played for the Panthers for
at least 16 years, serving as captain of 12
of those years, including 1935 when he
received the best and fairest award.
He coached for a total of 15 seasons and
served on the committee for seven years
between 1932-1938.
Parsons’ father George was the first person
to receive Life Membership with the Eltham

Saturday see’s David Brown knock up his
300th Senior game when he runs out for the
reserves against Heidelberg. David will be
the only player in the 100 plus year history
of the club to attain this milestone.
‘Brownie’ came through the Juniors and is
still the only person to win 2 Under 17’s
Best & Fairest’s (1989 & 90) with Eltham.
Those players less than 21 years of age
where not even born then so the old boy has
done well to still be playing and
importantly providing experience to the
players in the seconds.
Since he joined the seniors, Brownie has
played 226 A and now 74 B Grade games
counting today,
EFC Honours:
Life Member
B&F A Grade 1996.
Runner Up B&F A Grade 1994, 1995.
3rd B&F A Grade 1993.
B&F B Grade 2008
3rd B&F B Grade 2010
Congratulations from everyone at the mighty
Panthers.
