Dear all

I hope you have all come out of lockdown without be too heavily affected.

It is great to have the local football back and we are ideally looking forward to having the crowds back this week now that further easing of restrictions were announced yesterday.

It will be great to see crowds back at local footy this weekend with it particularly for the senior club with all five senior teams playing at home. The weekend begins with the Senior Women playing Bundoora on Friday night at Central commencing at 7 pm and then 4 games on the Saturday which is a rare occurrence.

The team is coming off a strong win last Sunday and they are sitting 4 th on the ladder at present and would hope to consolidate/advance that position on the weekend.

The Seniors and Reserves had big wins last weekend.

The Seniors have moved to 3rd place on the ladder and a highlight from the weekend were the debut games of Jackson Stafford (4 goals ) and James Minihan (1 goal) in the win over Fitzroy Stars.

The Seniors and reserves are playing Thomastown who beat the seniors earlier in the season and who are hunting for that 3rd position so it will be a very important game.

The under 19 (1s) went down to the top team Montmorency last week by 7 points and have demonstrated how competitive they are against the top teams. In that regard they have some unfinished with Heidelberg this week having been beaten by 1 point in their last encounter earlier in the season. This game starts straight after the seniors at 4.50

The Under 19 (2s) have had a tough time going down to Laurimar and will be keen to get a win at this Saturday morning against South Morang. They remain in second position and continue to look good for a high finals finish.

We will provide match reports weekly for the rest of the season and provide social function updates once we can get some certainty on coming out of restrictions and lockdown

Unfortunately our Presidents lunch was cancelled due to lockdown and we hope we may reschedule later in the year.

Thanks to all of our sponsors , PPP45 members , members, supporters for your ongoing engagement and love of the panthers – we look forward to seeing you at the games for the rest of the season

Regards

Mick Smith
