Eltham plays a second-successive home match this Saturday August 13th when it hosts Macleod in a rematch of last year’s preliminary final.
The Panthers are in a similar position to West Preston-Lakeside, whereby they can only play finals by winning their last two matches by huge margins and hope fellow finals contenders are heavily beaten in the final two rounds.
With key trio Billy Glasgow, Bradyn Taglieri and Chris Brannan back in the side, Eltham made a positive start against Northcote Park in Round 16.
It wasn’t able to maintain its early lead however, on the back of a 10-goal to five second half by the visitors.
The Reserves this week will be assured a finals berth with a win over Macleod on Saturday
The Under 19s will be in the box seat for a finals double chance, if they can have a strong win over Macleod. Although could very well come down to percentage differential between themselves and currently 4th paced Greensborough in the end.
